West Ham have been hit by a major injury blow with loanee Carl Jenkinson picking up a hamstring strain.

The Arsenal wing back looks set to miss the start of the new season after picking up the injury in his first game for the club against Malaga this afternoon.

He  was struck  on the hour and had to leave the pitch immediately. There are now  fears he could miss the big kick-off against Tottenham in two-weeks time.

He joins Andy Carroll and fellow right back Guy Demel on the injury list and with Enner Valencia  needing three weeks before he is considered for first-team duty things already look grim on injury and team form fronts.
