The sight of Jose Mourinho at the Austria v Russia international friendly game last night sent social media into meltdown by both However, Manchester United and West Ham United supporters.

The pictures came hours after Sky Sport News claimed Mourinho was interested in the Hammer of the Year despite saying he was not for sale and valued at £50m.

Some media outlets have suggested the Arnie rumour is just a smoke screen with Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claiming Mourinho was there to watch Russian midfielder Golovin.

However, the real reason for his attendance may be much more mundane.

Mourinho has been hired by Russian TV channel RT to cover the World Cup.

The Kremlin-funded channel is branded a ‘foreign agent’ by the US after being caught up in the investigation of Russia meddling in the 2016 election.

Mourinho told RT “Guys, I know you are nervous. This is a huge tournament and a huge amount of pressure. “We will show the world a great game – the greatest game.”

He added that he was “very happy to join the team at RT”

Meanwhile Hammers insiders insist there has been no contact or bids and Marko Arnautovic is not for sale.
