Juventus could reignite interest in Hammer

A report in the Athletic claims that Juventus could come back in again for West Ham’s out of form attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini.

Juventus were said to been interested last summer when a new contract was yet to be sorted with the Argentine player.

In recent games, Lanzini has dropped from Pellegrini’s starting line up after a poor run in form often coming on as a second-half substitute. Gone at the moment is the 26-year-old’s playmaking ability which made him adored by West Ham fans.

In August this year, Lanzini finally put pen to paper in agreeing a new long term contract committing him another four years until to the summer of 2023. His pay packet is reported to have sharply risen from £40,000 per week to around £100,000 per week to put him on par with West Ham’s top earners.

It could be argued he hasn’t been the same player since signing his new deal but whether that is a coincidence or the players around him is hard to say. We could see a scenario where the club could be tempted to part with their creative player if a large bid came in from Juventus this summer.
