Klopp could be off hook as Hammers loom

Jurgen Klopp will not automatically be banned from the touchline despite being sent off against Manchester City.

The Daily Mirror reports that the Liverpool boss is awaiting referee Anthony Taylor’s report from Sunday’s game to discover if he will face additional punishment after being shown a red card in his side’s 1-0 win.

Klopp appeared to explode in anger after a free-kick was not awarded to Mohamed Salah as he surged down the right flank and was pulled to the ground by Bernardo Silva.

He screamed abuse at the fourth official and the referee and Taylor, as a result, produced a red card.

The Mirror quotes a report from PA Sport, who are of the understanding that Klopp will be free to manage on the touchline against the Irons.

The standard punishment – if Taylor deems more to be appropriate – is a fine and a one-match ban, but it is unlikely he will be banned before the Hammers go to Anfield.
