Reports in French newspaper L’Equipe that West Ham have made a fresh bid of  £42.7m for Alexandre Lacazette has been met with some amusement inside the Hammers  camp.

Talk of a Friday deadline for Carlos Bacca from West Ham has also been met with equal bewilderment by Irons insiders.

Football agent Sergio Barila has been speaking out his client’s future, but refused to be drawn into discussions about Bacca or where he would end up this season.  He told Tutto Mercato Web“A Friday deadline for West Ham? I can’t talk about it, let’s wait and see what happens.”

West Ham has ended all interest in Bacca following the signing of Andre Ayew and no new significant transfers are expected at West Ham this summer with the exception of Jonathan Calleri after the Olympics unless a player leaves of a similar wage structure to any incoming player.

Yesterday West Ham also denied stories  they are pursuing Lyon’s Algerian winger Rachid Ghezzal.

According to L’Equipe Lyon president Aulas said:  “We have received offers for him from West Ham.I know Rachid doesn’t want to leave Lyon so we have to find an agreement, as this situation is neither good for him nor for the club.”

But our top source inside The London Stadium categorically denied any bid for the player saying: “They will have their own reasons for putting out such a story but there has been no bid from West Ham United. I think most would agree we have enough wingers!”
This morning Italian media have reported West Ham are interested in signing Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne. I am sure we are going to be linked to another 50 players between now and the close the transfer window but the truth of the matter is our main transfer business is now done and only a bargain buy or a loan gamble will tempt us into the market again.
