Lampard on Rice

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed West Ham statements there have been no talks between themselves and us for a potential Declan Rice switch.

Despite near daily reports that the Blues want our top man, Lampard has made it clear that it’s not at the top of any Stanford Bridge agenda.

He said recently: “Declan Rice is a good player and I’ve known him for a long time but there’s no talk”

And via a top CandH source the Hammers have again said the same declaring by e-mail: There’s absolutely nothing there – no talks. Nothing going on at all.”

A well worn story that Lampard is ready to offer near flop striker Michy Batsuhayi and Ross Barkley plus cash keep returning but the Hammers are well served in midfield now and the French striker has hardly been a major hit at the Blues with a three loan spells behind him since joining.

He is worth less than half the £40 million Chelsea paid for him whilst Barkley has been dismissed by the Hammers to CandH  by e mail as being “just a speculative media target.”

The Hammers want a minimum of £70 million for Declan who is also our captain-in-waiting with David Moyes  making it clear he wants to build the team around him and that any bid will need to be accompanied by an armoured card carrying Bank of England money!

Any Chelsea bid would rely totally on a departure from the club by N’Golo Kante!
