Manu Lanzini looks set to be sidelined for a month after a scan today confirmed a hamstring problem with the influential Hammers midfield playmaker.

The news was passed to ClaretandHugh a few minutes ago that the squad’s already stretched resources will be hit further by the Argentinian’s absence.

Manu walked out of the action on against Bournemouth during the second half and manager David Moyes quickly indicated the problem could be serious.

And so it has turned out with early indications being that the earliest he may be available to return will be for the trip to Anfield on February 24.

However, at such an early stage that’s a ‘gue stimate’ and fingers will remain crossed that he could be back for the match against Watford on the 10th although that was described as “unlikely.”

However, there was good news of Michail Antonio who joined in training with the under 23s at Chadwell Heath today and showed no reaction to his groin injury.

He will train again tomorrow and for the rest of the week and so long as there are no setbacks he will be hoping to perhaps play a part in next Tuesday evening’s game against Palace.

Winston Reid is also recovering well along wit Jose Fonte and is expected to play a part in the FA Cup fourth round tie at Wigan.
