West Ham are set to offer Manuel Lanzini a new contract.

The Hammers are keen to keep the Argentina international but his current contract is set to expire in 2023.

The Irons have an option to keep the 29-year-old at the club and sources have told ClaretandHugh there is a desire at the Hammers to tie Lanzini down.

There are doubts over a number of midfielders this summer; Mark Noble has left, Alex Kral has departed, and Conor Coventry is unlikely to be given a first-team chance this season, while there is a question mark hanging over Tomas Soucek.

Lanzini can play in central midfield and there is no appetite at the club to lose another midfielder, especially for nothing.

He made 46 appearances last season and remains a key part of David Moyes’ plans as he looks forward to another season that will include European competition, after qualification to the Europa Conference League.
