Another West Ham pub will close its doors today, the Denmark Arms in Barking road is calling last orders for the final time.

The Grade II listed public house at 381 Barking Road, East Ham was built in about 1890, and extended about 1900. It was formerly named the Denmark Inn In the 1890s, local football club Old Castle Swifts would use the Denmark Inn to change for matches at Temple Meadows in Wakefield Street. Much later West Ham fans would used the pub for pre-match and post-match drinks before attending games at the nearby Boleyn Ground.

In a social media post on their facebook page before the last weekend, it said “It’s official. We are closing. We would like to thank all, for your custom and support whilst we have been the Denmark Arms Pub. Our last day of trading will be Monday 30th July 2017. This will be our last weekend of music so please feel free to join us this Saturday and let’s have a good time. Music starts at 8.30pm til late. Once again. Thank You. The Denmark Arms. “
