Lawro’s at us again

It won’t come as any surprise to most to discover that without giving any sort of reason Mark Lawrenson is again tipping a Hammers defeat this weekend.

Lawro is an expert in predicting defeat for us and we are still trying to work out whether that’s a good or bad thing.

Okay, down the years we have had a pretty poor record at Goodison but over recent times the record is much better and it provided us with out first win of the season last term – 3-1 with Andriy Yarmolenko bagging a brace.

Yes, they are likely to be fighting for their lives and yes they will have midfielder Gomes back apparently but I can still find no reasons on Lawrenson’s BBc website for a prediction which again defies explanation.

Cand H is going for a 2-1 away win whilst the BBC pundit and former Liverpool defender goes for the opposite. Here’s his view:

This is a huge game for Everton boss Marco Silva, whose team are in the bottom three after four straight league defeats.

The Toffees had been in great form at Goodison Park but they have lost their past two on home turf, against Sheffield United and Manchester City.

That defeat to the Blades was particularly damaging for Silva, because it was a game the Everton fans expected to win – and the same applies here.

And it will not be easy for them. Yes, West Ham lost at home to Crystal Palace last time out, but I have been impressed by Manuel Pellegrini’s side this season and they will definitely carry a threat up front.
