Little Hammer Zara Banks – who passed away at the age of just eight years old last month – is to be remembered by the club at the next home match against Chelsea on March 6.

Zara went to school as normal on Wednesday 11th January but sadly suddenly collapsed in class and was taken to Great Ormond Street Hospital

She passed away at 3.30pm on Thursday 12th January

Her death was cause by a Spontaneous Subarachnoid Haemorrhage. She had no knowledge of what happened to her and didn’t suffer at all.

Both Zara and her father Mark were massive Irons, went to games together. They would also sit together watching games on TV – yelling at the ref and screaming with joy when West Ham scored. The same as we all do or have done with our children..

Now Zara will be remembered at the London derby with a club spokesman telling Claret and Hugh: “We have something planned which  involves a piece in programme, a tribute on the big screen and if fans clap at 8th minute we will show picture again.”

We encourage all CandH suppoerts and follow to remember this little one and our heartfelt sympathy to Mark and the family – in our thoughts.
