Liverpool defeat could be final straw

The Sun newspaper claim today that a heavy defeat at home to Liverpool on Saturday may be the final straw for the board patience with Slaven Bilic even though they have no-one waiting in the wings to take over. The paper says the club feel they need to get points on the board before a nightmare run of games in December. The  Sun claims there is growing concern around the London Stadium about Bilic’s ability to inspire his players and organise the team.

The Hammers face successive matches against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in the run-up to Christmas – a challenging run that could leave them in the relegation zone by the turn of the new year.

That is why the board see a huge importance in West Ham earning as many points as possible from the three games before then, which are Watford, Leicester and Everton.

The Sun name Watford’s Marco Silva, Eddie Howe at Bournemouth and Burnley boss Sean Dyche, Hoffenheim’s Julian Nagelsmann, former City boss Roberto Mancini and Newcastle’s  Rafa Benitez as potential candidates but admit there is no chance of landing any of these in the short term.
