A Newcastle supporter who threw a seat at the London Stadium hitting and injuring one of his own supporters has received a suspended prison sentence, a fine and has been banned from all football by a court for three years.

The away supporter who threw the seat had been charged with assault, throwing a missile and possession of drugs after West Ham’s game with the Magpies in Stratford in early November.

Attending court yesterday the man pleaded guilty to all three offences. The Judge was less than impressed and he was sentenced to 150 hours unpaid work, four months imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered to pay the victim £750 compensation

He will also have to pay just under £300 in fines and surcharges and was also handed a 3-year football banning order in addition to a life stadium ban from West Ham and London Stadium 185.

West Ham designated Police Officer Andy Sheldon said yesterday: I am sure he will be having a long hard think about his actions on his way back to Newcastle”.
