CandH’s regular ratings man Niall McDonald delivers his marks on the Hammers performace against Man City

Adrian: Couple of regulation saves – no real chance with the 4 that went in 4
Zabaleta: Heroes reception from the Man City fans was as good as it got 4
Ogbonna: Probably our best defender today 6
Rice: Added ‘own goal’ to his collection of learning experiences – reacted well 6
Cresswell: Beautiful free kick. Point deducted for continually turning back when passed the ball 5
Evra: Surprise selection kept close to Sterling, forcing Pep to move him wider 6
Noble: Dusted off the ‘lob the free kick over the wall for someone to volley’ routine – it’s still never worked 5
Kouyate: Never seen a player recover from being poleaxed so many times – limitations clearly shown 4
Lanzini: Looked on a par with the opposition in possession. Maybe tiring just before losing the ball for the 4th 6
Fernandes: One surge down the right was the highlight 4
Arnautovic: His disallowed goal showed that it was possible to get close to it. Saw very little of the ball 5

Subs
[* all 3 subs shoulders’ sank as the 4th went in while they waited to come on]
Masuaku: Had a short period where he got forward down the left; didn’t have his crossing boots on 3
Jaoa Mario: Made little to no impact 3
Hernandez: Looked rusty and distinctly unhappy 3
