Arthur Masuaku will miss the game at Leeds tomorrow night with his knee injury still creating problems for the left sided midfielder.

Confirming the news via his Instagram page, Masuaku wrote: “Hi everyone, I hope you are all good.

“Today I’m having a knee surgery to help me remove the pain that’s been bothering me for nearly two years now. It’s been a very difficult decision to make but for my good being and the rest of my career I have to make it.

“I’ll be giving updates here through my recovery and will see you soon again on the field. I wish my teammates/brothers the very best.”

It would appear to mean that Said Benrahma is about to get his first team opportunity over 90 minutes after four  appearances as a substitute.

And it could be that he will now be ready to start supplying the ammunition for Sebastian Haller to improve his form.

The former Brentford star has looked particularly good on his cameo appearances for us against Fulham, Villa and Man United after making a last minute of extra time appearance against Liverpool.

Now it looks as though he will have several weeks to make an impression but it’s terrible luck on him as he has been showing some of the best form of his Hammers career despite being in pain.

His  troublesome knee saw him decide to stay in London to receive medical attention rather than travel for international duty but he has been unable to shake
