Manchester United are keen on Hammers hitman Diafra Sakho – with Old Trafford scouts actively tracking the prolific Senegalese international.

The claims have been made by The Daily Mail, which suggests Louis Van Gaal is monitoring £15 million-rated Sakho.

West Ham have stressed that Sakho is not for sale at any price.

Talking specifically about Sakho, David Gold told the club’s website earlier this week: “I was delighted to see Diafra Sakho get among the goals straight away [against Lusitans in the Europa League].

“We have a lot of high hopes resting on Sakho this season, and he is the one who can surprise everyone. I believe he can become a world-class striker. He has the passion and attributes to be one of the top forwards in the Premier League.”

West Ham’s top goal scorer netted 12 goals in 26 appearances last season, including one against the Red Devils at Old Trafford. He also scored two goals last Thursday in West Ham’s 3-0 win against Lusitans.
