Tony Martinez grabbed a brace with Martin Samuelsen getting in on the goal scoring act as West Ham’s under 21s brushed aside League opposition in the shape of Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium tonight.

It was a tremendous display by the boys who came from behind after a first minute goal by the League One oufit in an astonishing victory.

Rovers in fact took just 25 seconds to convert when a Byron Moore cross is headed home by Tom Nichols.

For an Irons team of such youth to go in against a side competing at the third tier of the Football League and beat them in comprehensive fashion was amazing.

After the early setback, Martinez scored from the spot in the 42nd minute and five minutes after the break Samuelsen fired home home a powerful effort across goal.

The Hammers took control and started to dominate and got another through the excellent Martinez after 73 minutes  with a delightful chip..
