The striker has been spending time in Mexico on holiday with his girlfriend after a frustrating season which saw him make just nine appearances mostly as a substitute for limited time on the pitch.
The 21-year-old who joined from Villareal in 2016 for a fee which rose to £2.7m will be hoping he gets his chance to impress new manager Manuel Pellegrini but there are fears time is running out for him to show he has what it takes to make the jump to the first team and could be sold to a Spanish club if he finds he is surplus to requirements.
