  1. IMaxwel Cornet is set to undergo his medical with West Ham this evening ahead of his move from Burnley.

The Hammers have been in talks with the Championship club over a deal to buy the left wing-back.

C&H understand the two clubs have come to an agreement over the deal for Cornet, who had a £17.5m release clause embedded into his contract at Turf Moor.

Cornet is now set to travel to east London to have his medical and is poised to become the latest signing of a busy summer, barring any late, unforeseen hitches.

He was in impressive form for the Clarets last season, scoring nine goals in the Premier League despite their relegation to the second-tier.

Cornet was not included in Burnley’s squad for their opening game of the season, as they beat Huddersfield, and now looks set to move to the Irons.

The wing-back, who can also play as a winger and as a striker, if needed, will join Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, and Gianluca Scamacca in joining the club this summer.

It remains to be seen if he can be registered in time to play any part in the game against Manchester City on Sunday.
