Merson gives Baggies/Irons prediction

Paul Merson has tipped West Ham to lose 1-0 at the weekend claiming that Tony Pulis’ West Brom are set to cope with the Andy Carroll threat.

Albion have been doing double training stints every day since a shocking defeat by Brighton when the manager’s legendary anger was on full display.

Merson believes he will get the reaction he wants and said: “West Brom were poor against Brighton, it was like they thought they would just turn up and not lose, but they were bad until they went 3-0 down.

“West Ham got a good result on Monday, but a lot for them depends on Andy Carroll. I think West Brom have the players who could cope with him.”

The Hammers will be looking to reverse a run of three defeats and will be on a revenge mission following the 4-2 defeat on their last visit to the Hawthorns.

ClaretandHugh sees it in precisely opposite terms with Carroll scoring the goal which will give the Irons a 1-0 win.
