Michail makes a serious point

West Ham United are – along with many others in the game – refusing to post via its social media channels in response to what it describes as sustained abhorrent racist and discriminatory abuse received online by players, fans and many others connected to football and beyond.”
Michail – commenting – said: “I think it [the boycott] is the right thing to do. o-one can do it on their own. We have to do it together and, as long as we are doing it together, that’s when things will change.”
The No30 added: “The Club provides great support. When you receive racist abuse, you can tell them about it and they challenge it straight away.
“They put it out there and challenge it and get things blocked, and that is quality.”
ClaretandHugh says: That such a boycott is necessary is shocking and tells us far more about our culture or society than we really want to know. It seems entirely impossible in the 21st century that so many bigots find the colour of a person’s skin noticeable in the first place. That abuse should follow is just so disgusting that it’s nearly impossible to find words for it. We have to say well done to West Ham and everybody else involved in the game for taking a stand but the horrifying fact that it’s required at all shames a society which likes to call itself civilised in the first place. To the bigots and dregs we quote these words found on Faceboook from pal and Mirror journalist Mike Walters to the ignorant: “Your poison is worthless, and trying to hide behind anonymity is gutless and cowardly. So bark at the moon, shout down a well or howl at the wind – nobody is paying any attention because you’re backward and primitive stains on humanity.”
