Mikey has to hit scoring trail in Europe

Mikey Antonio needs to start finding the back of the net if we are going to have a big chance of qualifying for the next round of the Europa League.

The Hammers striker has been struggling for goals over the last few months but has been looking in better nick over the last few games and his bustling style could cause Sevilla some unusual problems.

He hasn’t scored a goal in the league since New Year’s Day, against Crystal Palace, in the 3-2 win getting his first in that time against Saints in the FA Cup defeat.

It means he has gone eight league games without a goal, and has not scored in the Europa League since the win over Dinamo Zagreb on the opening day of the group stage.

Sevilla, though, are a dangerous opponent and they are currently second in La Liga.

If we are to progress to the quarter-finals, we must keep everything crossed that Mikey is truly back on the case and that he can bring his near drought to an end.

The burden falls to him especially after news of Jarrod Bowen’s injury broke and his unavailability for the game in Spain.

The pressure is absolutely on.
