Felipe Anderson’s misery continues after he was left out of FC Porto’s matchday squad tonight.

He has only played 52 minutes of football in the five matches at which he has been on loan at Porto.

He came on a 59th minutes substitute with former Hammer Toni Martinez against Sports Lisbon on 17th October in a 2-2 draw for his 31-minute debut.

He also came on as a 72nd-minute substitute against Pacos Ferreira in a 3-2 loss on 30th October playing a further 18 minutes for Porto.

However, there was no room for Anderson in Porto’s 23 man match squad in the Champions League against Marseille tonight.

Porto manager Sergio Conceicao has suggested that Felipe Anderson must work harder, when speaking to DESPORTO AO MINUTO, as the West Ham loanee continues to struggle in Portugal

The head coach told reporters “Felipe knows that in order to return to having brilliant moments as he had [so far in his career], it is necessary to work hard. Anything he does now [at Porto] can have great positive results in the future. And everything that has already happened [in his career] no longer matters, it stays in the bank. The important thing is what he will do at FC Porto.”

Anderson agreed a season loan with Porto with the Portuguese side paying his £100,00o plus per week wages and a significant loan fee.
