Moans as Irons enter market- err WHAT?

So this was going to be the window when no business was done!

But should Emmanuel Emenike join Sam Byram in the next few days as seems very likely with Mauro Zarate’s departure, there’s going to be a lot of people saying: “Told you so!”

It means that the Davids are still to complete a January without making a signing or two in the winter window after 25 years in the business.

They will claim Byram was forced on them because Everton were on the case but who knows how successful or otherwise Emenike is likely to prove. One leading agent told me earlier today that he looked a fantastic prospect a few years back but never really fulfilled his potential.

His career started at MP Black Aces and progressed through Cape Town, Karabukspor, Fenerbache, Spartak Moscow, back to Fenrbache and is currently at Al Ain on loan.

He has scored a total of 80 goals in 185 appearances but this is no place to make judgements on how good or otherwise he may be given the type of clubs he’s joined.

I’ve got to say it’s hard to see how he will get regular football when AC and Sak are back but hey after the business the club’s done this last few months who are we to complain.

And that brings me to the point of this blog! Since becoming aware that we are in for the bloke I’ve seen all sorts of odd comments on social media complaining that we are active in the market when DS and DG said we wouldn’t be.

Several were complaining that the club had misled them and that owners would be better off keeping their mouths shut because they were making themselves look foolish, err WHAT?

If we’re not active it’s wrong. Now it seems if we are there are reasons for complaint if we are. I also find it hard to believe that there are many who would not want to be kept up to speed on what the club may or may not be doing.

That we are makes West Ham an exception to the rule given that the likes of Daniel Levy, the Fenway group and the Glazers run their clubs as though they are a branch of MI6.

I’m more than happy to know what’s going on and I’d be very surprised indeed if there are many who would prefer the club to live under a cloak of impenetrable silence.

Who’d be a club owner? Most of the time it’s a lose/lose situation!
