West Ham plans to commission a new statue honouring Bobby Moore, Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst as a replacement for the Champions Statue which will stay in Green Street.

Karren Brady told West Ham United Official Supporters’ Board Members in early Feb that planning permission has been granted and that the Club had set aside substantial funding for a project to create a new statue outside the London Stadium.

Executive Marking Director Tara Warren told the group that initial feedback suggested that the statue must pay homage to the West Ham greats of that golden 60’s era who feature in the Champions statue so that we can maintain the link to our Boleyn Ground heritage and those legends honoured there.

Warren said a number of fans had suggested that the players there featured in the Champions Sculpture could be replicated in a West Ham context, or the Statue could represent West Ham’s 1960s heyday.

Warren also advised that the Club had met many companies and were in discussions with the organisation who had installed statues at Emirates Stadium and in Parliament Square to bring together some initial thoughts.
