West Ham U18’s were this lunch time beaten by Chelsea youngsters at the Cobham training ground in Surrey in a game which finished 4-1 with the consolation goal from teenage Hammer Freddie Botts.

The London derby defeat comes after a 4-1 loss against Spurs U18 last Saturday on the first day of the new Academy season, Hammer Michael Forbes scoring the only West Ham goal in that defeat.  The U18’s were unbeaten in five pre-season friendly games recording an impressive 10-0 win over QPR.

U18 West Ham Team that faced Chelsea: Iyiola Adebayo, Michael Adu, Freddie Botts, Kai Corbett, Michael Forbes, Ben Heale, Krisztián Hegyi, Gael Kileba, Kamarai Simon-Swyer, Christian Veliky  Subs: Remy Coddington, Divin Mulbana, Josh Roache, Junior Robinson, Archie Woods

With the Under 23’s losing their two opening fixtures against London opposition with a 3-0 loss against Spurs and 1-0 defeat to Chelsea it doesn’t bode well for West Ham’s first team visit to the Emirates against Arsenal this afternoon.

Just to add to the misery West Ham Women lost 9-1 to Arsenal’s women last Saturday after drawing one all with Spurs the previous week.
