David Moyes is tonight an overwhelming favourite to return to the London Stadium charged with saving our Premier League status for the second time!

But this time should he march back in he will be in a position of overwhelming strength and looks certain to get a long term contract which will take him to the end of the season and two years beyond that.

He will also demand that he has total control and will broach no interference at any level with one source telling us tonight the recruitment gurus will be turfed out as his first victims.

The club are known to have been speaking to both him and former Brighton boss Chris Hughton who at one time was seen as a possible candidate until the end of the season.

But with his previous knowledge of the club in his locker and understanding the various problems he will need to deal with Moyes is now a heavy favourite.

He will bring bring Stuart Peace with him should he arrive over the next few days -indeed there’s even a suggestion that he could be in by New Years Day and the game against Bournemouth.

Manuel Pellegrini and his team are in line for a pay off of between £7 million to £10 million.
