The General may get another chance at Old Trafford

We will know in a couple of hours or so how important the FA Cup is to the manager during this amazing season – do we dare dream of a double – lol!

His team selection for the match against Fulham should be released at around 4.40pm and will tell is much about what to expect on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

There may be a tendency to play a slightly weakened team against Fulham but that would surely be a mistake given what’s at stake in the Premier League this season.

Some still find it difficult to accept but Europe looks a real possibility and given the way the boss has managed the squad so far this term, maybe not the distant dream some might imagine.

Fulham maybe seriously struggling but at this stage of the season when desperation starts to kicks in few chances can be taken against an opposition in that position.

Moyes – being a creature of habit – will be loathe to change things too much today and will know that with Lingard missing for the fifth round he will need to make one change at least – presumably recalling Pablo Fornals or Manu Lanzini. Ryan Fredericks could get a run out today.

There may be an Old Trafford  chance for Fabian Balbuena – who did nothing wrong ahead of Craig Dawson’s arrival – but I can’t see much changing today beyond that.

However, Moyes is always producing surprise packets so our team is named here with not entirely overwhelming confidence.

Hammers possible team v Fulham: Fab, Couval, Dawson, Oggy, Cresswell; Fredericks, Rice, Soucek, Benrahma, Lingard Antonio.
