Moyes admits he’s feeling the heat

David Moyes admits he is feeling the pressure at West Ham.

The Irons are just one point above the relegation zone and go into Friday’s clash with Brentford on a run of four successive defeats.

We have long reported that Moyes needs to turn it around and fast if he is to keep his job, with the upcoming run of games likely to prove decisive; the Irons play Brentford on Friday, then Leeds next Wednesday, before taking on the Bees again in the FA Cup. After that, games against Wolves and Everton loom.

Moyes needs to find a way to start climbing the table if he is to maintain his role as manager and the Irons boss accepts that he is currently under pressure as he looks to find a way to get the Hammers back to winning ways.

Speaking ahead of the clash with the Bees, Moyes said, as per Football.London: “We’ve recently been used to being the top half of the table so we’re not happy in the position we’re in. We’re not daft, we know the position we are in. Most managers, if you lose a few games, you are under pressure.”

Moyes has also urged the home support to roar the Irons on as they return to the London Stadium for the first time since the World Cup.

He added: “The home crowd are vital no matter where you are, we’ve had that as well. We’ve got a stadium that can hold big numbers, over 60,000. We’ve got closer to getting filled more than ever before, last year or even this year. We’ve had some great nights, some big wins. That goes to bring more people in. We want to bring in more young West Ham supporters and the east end of London is a big West Ham area. I think the club have also made tickets affordable as well.”
