Moyes again draws veil over the biggest Irons issue

David Moyes kept Michail Antonio’s possible return a closely guarded secret – as is his way – at yesterday’s pre-Brighton presser.

That of course was as predictable as Christmas Day arriving on December 25.

He declared: ““Mikey’s back on the grass training, we’ll hopefully get him back as quick as we can.

“We can’t say exactly when that will be. He’s coming on well so hopefully that won’t be too long.”

No change in attitude or delivery of news there then although word was a week back that the main man would almost certainly make the bench on the 27th.

That remains the same on the basis of information CandH has received and frankly I was hoping that Moyes would give a stronger indication – or indeed say that was indeed in the squad – at the presser.

I can seen no reason whatsoever for him for not scaring Brighton to death by doing so should Mikey be ready as we all know teams cannot plan their game on how to stop our top man.

Sometimes a different approach is required and I feel by leaving things so vague the manager may have missed an opportunity of gaining an edge over the visitors assuming he’s fit to return.
