The one thing you can be sure of with David Moyes is that he will continually surprise you with his team selections.
On an afternoon when most would have been certain that Ben Johnson would be involved for the injured Aaron Cresswell at left back, the manager has chosen to go with three at the back.
In doing so he has left us all wondering just who is going to play down the left side and having decided on Diop, Ogbonna and Balbuena he has left Said Benrahma again to fill a position on the bench.
And then comes the biggest surprise of all, Ryan Fredericks, which may be an inspired move given his pace although I can’t recall him playing down there for either us or Fulham.
His team can only fuel the view of some that he is not the biggest admirer of the former Brentford star if a right back is preferred as a left sided midfielder to a near £30 million signing.
