Moyes believes we are seeing his real West Ham
What we are seeing currently is a mega shift in what suffering Irons fans have watched from the teams in claret and blue down so many years.
In Moyes terms this may be what he considers REAL. In ours they it’s extraordinary as we watch a team that is composed and purposeful, determined and courageous.
These are simply not words which have been able to enter the vocabulary of most Hammers fans a d it’s fantastic to be able to use them now because that’s what we saw yesterday (Sat).
When we cast our minds back to our position immediately before lockdown with the team stranded in a desperate position our improvement has been near miraculous.
Moyes has taken everything in his stride as he has set about transforming this club and one is bound to ask the question: Where would we be now had we stuck with him first time around?
After the brilliant point the manager he declared: ‘I think we are improving as a team. The football is getting better and I am really pleased with way things are going.
‘Against Newcastle I was stunned. I hadn’t seen it in pre-season, in the games, in the players. I’d seen what I’m seeing now. I like to think it was a one-off and what you are seeing now is more like what we are.”
And he offered a much required warning to the squad declaring: ‘I think the thing is we’ve got a group of fit players, got players in and competition is tough – if you want to stay in team you must keep performing and get results.’
