He explained the Hornets are set for a test and reckons David Moyes could change the Hammers fortunes.
He said: “It is a different situation. If we played against a team with a coach they have the last months we have an idea of what they normally do.
“We know very well the players and the team, but it is a first match with a new coach. We know David Moyes and what he did at his other clubs.
“He can change everything. It is the first game and he can change. We respect the team and they have a lot of individual quality in their players. We know what we need to do to win the game.”
“What I can tell you about the situation is I look at it like with some players when they play well, or the same with a coach and somebody makes an approach to the board.
“ I read many, many things during the week and the media wrote I didn’t want to talk with anybody and then said I wanted to.
“I need to talk with my owner, my board and with my players as well, but nobody else.”
All of that leaves a shadow which can only help the Hammers as they look for their first away win of the season.
