Moyes desperate for the real Lanzini

David Moyes has admitted that Manu Lanzini is bang out of form and with Felipe Anderson injured that represents a major problem

The Argentine though has never truly returned to consistently  decent form since returning to action following a devastating cruciate injury.

There have been moments of course when flashes of creativity have appeared but not recently as the team has slid down the league.

With the Brazilian out of action for up to four weeks and the other absentee Jack Wilshere seemingly on permanent injury leave, it’s difficult not to sympathise with the manager as he addresses so many problems within the team.

However, given his problems right across the middle of the park it has to be said that he has to find some sort of answer in the transfer market.

And if he’s not pressing the board to get the player/s he wants he should be because that is what good managers do – harass for the best players available – that’s his job.

Commenting on the Lanzini problem he said: “Our creative players are missing, we miss Felipe Anderson. We are really crying out for Manuel Lanzini to return and come back to the level he was at and they are our creative players.

“They are the ones we have, we have lost one of them to injury and one who is not in his best form but we have to try and get that creativity back in it.”

The 26-year-old has claimed just three assists in 17 Premier League matches and is yet to score.
