David Moyes is this morning reported as being keen to sign Reading central defender Liam Moore in the  January transfer window.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is also keen on the 25 year old but the Hammers boss wants the England under-21 international who can also play at right back.

Moyes has already identified the back line as a problem where injured Jose Fonte and James Collins have reached the veteran stage.

And there have been regular question marks over Winston Reid’s form and fitness along with Angelo Ogbonna. Moyes will hope he is given the time to build from the back and make Moore an early signing as he bids to turn the ride which is flowing heavily against the club right now.

Stranded in 19th place, Reading may be ready to sell if they can get clear of relegation trouble and a bid of around £8 million could tempt the Championship outfit.
