Moyes gives his Ajeti assessment

David Moyes has expressed a measure of disappointment over Albian Ajeti’s performance against West Brom but is apparently ready to give him further chances.
Ajeti has failed to make any sort of impression since his arrival from Basle for £8 million in the summer and apart from a couple of EFL Cup matches and a 90 minutes yesterday has been very much a squad ‘passenger.’
Moyes, put him up front yesterday but despite some frantic running around made no more impact that anyone else during a shocking team performance.
Moyes, delivering his verdict on the player – was more than a little neutral claiming that he had hoped the 22 year old would give the team a bit more.
Didn’t we all!
He added: “I think we hoped he would give us a little more in certain aspects but I don’t want to judge somebody on one sole effort.
“But he’s been here for how long now, since the summer, and I don’t know how many games he’s started. Today I felt it was fair to give him an opportunity to see if there was something there, and it was right for us, and we’ll assess it.
We’ll have a look again.”
That’s two strikers signed under different managers – Pellegrini and Moyes himself – who have looked poor in the extreme so let’s hope to God that the next few days throws something infinitely more worthwhile our way.
At this moment we have no strikers of any serious  quality other than Michail Antonio who was only ever seen earlier in the season as an emergency front man anyway.
Ajeti was seen as a better bet than Chicharito as they moved in and out at the same £8 million – we need far better.
