Moyes has previous with striker problems

I have a feeling that history is about to repeat itself, step forward Mr Scamacca.

Out of all the new arrivals, he has arguably been the biggest disappointment so far. I’m not blaming him though.

The beleaguered one just hasn’t set up his team to help the 24-year-old play his natural game and he also has a previous conviction for  completely messing up another talented centre-forward…

If you cast your mind back , exactly the same thing happened with Sebastian Haller.

West Ham signed the 28-year-old striker from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019 for around £45 million. However, he flopped at the London Stadium and was sold to Ajax for just £20 million in January 2021.

Haller is a very good striker and he failed at West Ham because he was isolated through the middle on his own. History is now repeating itself with Scamacca as he remained isolate last night – but this time on the bench!

It is patently obvious that both strikers are at their best when playing in and around another striker or two narrow wingers.

Now rumours are circulating that he wants to leave the Irons for pastures anew. The ashen faced one will only have himself to blame if the West Ham striker does go.

And let’s not forget Jordan Hugill!
