West Ham boss David Moyes can be very encouraged by what he saw at Chelsea yesterday and against Spurs in midweek.

Yesterday  was a VAR disaster and the Spurs game saw the north Londoners indulging themselves in thuggish behaviour – notably towards Jarrod Bowen.

One point from six is deeply disappointing in such circumstances but it could just have easily have seen as collect a minimum of four .

The eye has been drawn to Michail Antonio in particular who has responded to the arrival of Gianluca Scamacca in admirable style with some top displays.

Tomas Soucek does not look an unhappy player as suggested pre season and Declan is back in his high class groove although we need to see more from Jarrod Bowen.

At the back we will unquestionably be strengthened by the return of Craig Dawson whilst Emerson has looked a fine addition and we are waiting for an explosion from Luca Paqueta.

The bottom three is a false illusion after the last couple of games which were always gonna be tough and next weekend and Newcastle looks pretty winnable to me.
