David Moyes is clearly a man on a mission beyond creating positivity with the playing squad.

With the first fans due back into the London Stadium on Sunday for the first time inn 14 months he has chosen this moment to make his attitude clear towards the supporters too.

Moysie is demonstrating very clearly that he’s in control of what goes on inside this club and he’s  not in the business of letting  elements of protest and distrust interfere with what he’s trying to build.

He didn’t say as much but talking to reporters he made some pretty pointed comments about what he wants from the fans if he is to achieve his aims for West Ham.

He explained: “We have tried to work in this pandemic to get a good team spirit. Anyone who knows us will see there is a fantastic spirit.

What we need is that fantastic spirit from the terraces now as well, from the supporters. We need to build on it. We need positivity around the club.

I’m going to try and do that I’m going to try and keep building it, I’m going to be positive, I want the supporters to be positive.

I want all the new young supporters who are going to come in for West Ham in the future to see a good team.

I want them to come to an environment which is positive, and they can enjoy coming to. That’s the way modern football is going and we need to have all those young supporters in the ground.”
