David Moyes wants to see the Academy “boys ” getting some opportunities.

Several members of the Under 23 squad – including  Declan Rice and Toni Martinez  – have been training with the eight first team members not on international duty this week and the manager likes what he has seen.

With  the fans crying out for the kids to be handed their chances, the manager has made it clear that he shares the same view.

Commenting on their involvement he made it clear that he is hoping they will be involved permanently at Rush Green rather than at Chadwell Heath.

He said: ” They’ve trained with us every day since I’ve been here because the numbers are down and we wanted to train with decent size numbers.

The U23s have come up to Rush Green to train with us and I hope that’s the way it will stay.

I’ve been told about one or two and a couple of others have caught my eye. Really those young boys need to be given opportunities.”
