David Moyes wants to instil a European mentality into Hammers just like he did at Everton

Moyes says he can see a growing belief among his squad, and he looks at what he achieved during a decade of success at Everton believing the same can be done at  at West Ham.

The manager has publicly said his ambition is to take West Ham closer to European football – escaping relegation season in season out is no longer an option in his world.

He wants a stable West Ham with consistency slowly improving as the club moves up the Premier League table.

Moyes says he senses something different in his squad with a different group of players, he also says there’s a different feel around the club from his first spell here.

The  pinnacle of Moyes’ time at Everton was his fourth-place finish in 2005.

During his tenure, 2007 to 2009 were probably his and Everton’s best years. That trio of seasons, the Toffees secured two fifth-placed finishes and another in the top six, as the manager helped cement his side’s reputation as the best of the rest in the Premier League.

There were also some memorable forays into the Europa League, most notably in 2008, Everton were knocked out of the last 16 on penalties.

The next year Everton were FA Cup runners-up to Chelsea.

He’s aiming for the same and more in the East End.
