Hammers 1 Chelsea 0

I can’t remember feeling so proud and relieved – that was utterly – TRULY – magnificent!

If anybody can remember a greater performance of courage, resilience,  resolution and skill from an Irons team don’t bother letting me know.

Today was enough – more than enough – and at the end of a really bad week I and thousands feel very very proud.

David Moyes’ first win as West Ham boss was created by a goal from the Gods involving just six passes through the Chelsea defence and converted by the entirely committed  Marko Arnautovic.

And although after that there were obviously periods where we needed to cling on, the boys got their concentration levels up to 100 per cent and showed that this bunch can now look forward to climbing the league.

Defensively the team were superb,in midfield they won so many battles and challenged for everything, and up front Michail Antonio was a magnificent outlet when the pressure was on.

Arthur Masuaku was extraordinary providing the skill and running which will stretch any defence in the League as he showed today.

But overall it was the spirit and togetherness this team showed that had the chests of all us Irons puffing out in pride but first and foremost this was David Moyes’ day. Thank you boss.

A more considered piece later maybe but for now just sheer joy!
