Moyes masterstroke brings amazing win
David Moyes’ decision to push Jarrod Bowen closer to Michail Antonio in the second half was was probably the masterstroke which settled the game so wonderfully in our favour.
Mikey – as he has been in several games recently – was looking like a fish out of water in the first 45 minutes before Moyes decided to go as close to two up as we have or are likely to see.
The result – with Lanzini slotting into a midfield three perfectly – was that the No 9 and No 20 found an arrangement which suited them both perfectly.
The link -up play as Mikey saw reason to hold the ball up as his ‘partner’ took up threatening positions cast a totally different aspect over the game as Chelsea were finally put under the cosh.
Some of Mikey’s twisting and turning was quite brilliant and words are short when describing Bowen’s input notably with a goal which was quite the equal of Mason Mount’s despite the pundits claiming it to be a goal of the season qualifier.
We will have to wait to see how heavily the win will punish us with Ben Johnson and Kurt Zouma suffering injuries to add to Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell’s.
In the meantime lets glory in a fantastic win.
