Moyes: No more free hits after this season

David Moyes expects the pressure to be just as intense – if not more so – next season than the current campaign.

But he’s much happier living with that situation than he was last season when he admits he was watching the league table almost every singe breathing minute as the club bid to beat relegation.

That the Hammers are now growing as a club is  something he is used to from previous experience and told reporters:  I know form my experience at Manchester United and even at Everton in the early years, the pressure’s on because then the demands come to challenge the top teams.

And this is why I think this year it feels like we have got a bit of a free hit, but it won’t be a free hit going forward because it will be trying to do this on more regularly.

The pressure next year will be more to say ‘Can you do this again, David? Can you keep West Ham up in the top six or seven again’. So that will be the first target. And that’s where more pressure will come in the future.”
