David Moyes hasn’t got much wrong since his return to West Ham but he may have made a big misjudgement about the fans today (Tues)

With still only one loan signing on board this summer and the manager claiming there may  be no more, frustration among the fan are at pretty high levels.

Moyes doesn’t agree, however, and his weekend comments that if we continue to play as we did against Newcastle we may not need any may be cause for that concern to grow even more.

It’s been said a million times or more but the striker position is particularly worrying with apparently nobody in sight as back up to Antonio.

One injury to Mikey and we are in trouble with only the false nine option available through Jarrod Bowen or Said Benrahma.

Moyes, meanwhile, is straight batting all inquiries as to transfer window activities and today suggested the fans weren’t concerned.

He said: “We are trying to add to the squad if we can. We’ve had and we’ve got some offers in for people but not everything is coming to fruition. We’ll do our best to add to the squad before the close of the window.

“It has been a difficult window because the market in general is very quiet. There has been money spent at the top end but it has been quiet overall.

“We hope to add to it. I don’t think West Ham supporters are frustrated, I think they’re realising how good the team has been.

“So many will be coming back to see new players who they’ve not seen for the last 18 months who have been doing really well.”
