Moyes prepares for a new Hammers dawn

David Moyes has indicated on various occasions that he would prefer the season to come to an end now as he looks to build what he described as a young and energetic West Ham squad from next season onwards.

And with a number of players entering the last year of his contract as pointed out by Sam Inkersole of Football:London it’s easy to see why he was drawn to make the remark.

As Sam points out the likes of Mark Noble, Robert Snodgrass, Jack Wilshere, Lukasz Fabianski and Fabian Balbuena will all be out of contract.

And he makes the substantial point that Michail Antonio will be 31 which, whilst not old,  stil presents the manager with a big decision given the player’s injury issues.

It really does look as though this transfer window and next summer’s will be a very different and maybe defining year for the Hammers as Moyes sets about the business of building his own squad.

Covid 19 has ensured the flattest transfer window on record but that may work in the Hammers favour under a boss who has made it clear his favourite shopping area is in the Championship and lower English leagues.
