Sullivan has insisted that he can only bring in young and athletic players in January but Moyes has made it clear there’s a place for more mature individuals.
He said: “I brought in Sylvain Distin from Portsmouth at probably that age after we sold Joleon Lescott to Manchester City and Sylvain was brilliant for three or four years.”
And as frantic discussions going on behind the scenes over various targets, the manager admits there are very few who will own up to being the people responsible for signing players.
He said: ” The manager should always have a say.“There are very few people I know who want to be the guy who says it’s their decision, because signing players is the hardest thing and few get it right.
“Fortunately, I think through a lot of my time I have got it right.
