David Moyes’ decision not to take a holiday as such this summer is based on his determination to get his moves in the window 100 per cent correct. He may be a little haunted by the Jordan Hugill debacle which marked his first, and thus far, only move into the market for the Hammers.

The manager has checked out Eberechi Eze on various occasions and will again be studying videos of him and others before making his opening bids.

He will also be discussing things with his backroom staff and getting final opinions either personally or on the phone as he decides on his final shopping list.

There have been no moves for any Championship targets so far but there is also much interest in Slavia Prague winger Lukas Masopust who is understood to have been recommended to the club by former team-mate Tomas Soucek.

Moyes is known for his patience in the market and will undoubtedly be kept up to speed on his preferred targets by agents and targeted clubs.
