David Moyes still has a chance of becoming the permanent Hammers boss despite stories writing him off during the day.

Much rumour-mongering – as it is bound to be the case – has been doing the rounds that his chance has gone but ClaretandHugh  has learned over the last few minutes that stories of his Hammers death have been greatly exaggerated.

Some reports claim that he was told by the board today that he was unlikely to be handed the opportunity of continuing what he has started on a permanent basis.

But our own sources that neither scenario is accurate.

There was definitely no board meeting today although we understand that the normal post match communication between the manager and co chairmen was held.

Once discussed that was the end of the matter and Moyes will – along with several others – be offered an interview opportunity probably on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
