David Moyes insists the Hammers must be “brave” at Old Trafford if they are to beat Manchester United on Sunday.

The Irons have had a reasonable record against the big six in recent seasons and, this season, have gone very close to getting results against both Liverpool and Chelsea, while taking a point off Spurs.

The Irons face United on Sunday but have not won at Old Trafford in the league since 2007.

And he has claimed that the Hammers need to go for it if they are to have any chance of winning their first game at United in 15 years. Of course, the Irons did win there in the League Cup last season.

He told reporters: “Last year we did quite well against them. I know we lost both games to Man United in the last minute. But last year, we beat Chelsea, we beat Liverpool, we ran the top teams last year really well. We’ve been to Anfield, lost narrowly. Lost at Chelsea narrowly.

“We’ve got to see if we can change that little bit of, I don’t know if you want to call it unluckiness into lucky and see if we can get a result.

“What it comes down to is trying to make your own luck by being brave, positive, and over the last year or so, that’s the way we’ve been. We’ve had that mode of trying to challenge the big teams, give them a game, sometimes it’s not worked out but that’s the way I hope we go about taking them on.”
